Intro

Grab is a leader in the online food delivery with over 219M consumers in Southeast Asia. The goal is to enbark on a new business opportunity to drive ads revenue on the superapp.

My Role

At Grab my role is to help food merchants drive sales by boosting their listings with keywords targeting and increase their brand awareness by advertising on the Grab.

Summary

For many tech firms like Lazada, Shopee, Twitter & Meta, revenue from advertisements are a key source of revenue. For me this is a very unique problem space to be in as ads can be perceived by consumers as intrusive and disruptive. On other spectrum, ads do greatly help food merchants increase their sales revenue and brand awareness.

Discovery

I started off by understanding who am I designing this for? I travelled to Thailand & Vietnam to gather user insights and conduct user interviews to map out the user journey.

Define

I conduct customer journey mapping workshop to help the team to humanize our insights about the users and narrow our points of conversation.

Define

I facilitate and run brainstorming workshop to gather everyone from project managers, to designer, to engineers, for us to gather as a team to generate new ideas.

Design

Design the visual and the content of the ad.
Different formats. work cross functionally across different teams in Grab.

I do alot of research to test out my concepts with users and interview them.
